Captain Jonallen Velazquez

Captain Jonallen, a USCG Master Captain, has a simple connection to life: the ocean. Growing up on both the Gulf and Atlantic coasts, he spent most of his childhood on the water — fishing, watching dolphins and learning to handle boats of all sizes — and he's navigated these Southwest Florida waters for most of his life.

Exceptional boat-handling skills come with the territory, but Jonallen is also an amazing fisherman and an avid sheller. His intimate knowledge of the Ten Thousand Islands' waterways puts guests on the best spots — dolphin encounters, prime shelling locations and a true local's read on the ecosystem — with safety and respect for the marine environment built into every trip.

Captains and crew rotate across the fleet and both home ports with the season and the tides, so we can't promise who'll be at your wheel on a given day — but every Sand Dollar trip runs with a local captain, USCG licensed & insured, and a crew that treats your day on the water like their own.
