Turning a free afternoon into a cruise
Oyster Bay is a small pocket of canal streets on the east side of Naples Bay, sitting right alongside Royal Harbor, and its best feature on a day like this one is plain arithmetic. Our slip at Naples Bay Resort & Marina, 1500 5th Avenue South, is roughly a five to ten minute drive from these streets — check your own address in a map app, because traffic on the Tamiami Trail and the time of year both move that number. That short hop is what makes a late decision workable. You aren’t committing to a highway, a whole morning, or a plan you made three days ago. You’re deciding at two o’clock whether you want to be on the water by five.
Here’s the honest version of how our calendar behaves. Every seat on the booking page is live, so anything showing open is genuinely open at that moment — and on a good afternoon in season it can be gone before you finish reading this. What a booking page can never show you is what has just come loose. A party of six turns into a party of four. A charter shifts its start time by an hour. Somebody’s dinner reservation moves and they swap tomorrow for tonight. That gap between the screen and the day is exactly what a phone call closes, which is why we’d rather you dialed (239) 301-8913 than squinted at a calendar.
If we had to bet on one departure for a same-day yes, it would be an evening one. Morning trips tend to get claimed well ahead, and the runs that key off the tide lock in earlier still, while the late-day cruises are the ones people add on impulse and the ones that reshuffle latest. So start your call there and work backwards from it. None of that is a promise — some Saturdays in season every boat is spoken for by lunchtime, and we’ll tell you so rather than talk you into a trip you didn’t ask for. But there is usually another way onto the water the same evening, and if there truly isn’t, we’ll walk you through tomorrow before you hang up.
- Same-day seats open up often — we just can’t promise them
- Evening departures are the most common last-minute win
- Call (239) 301-8913 rather than guessing at the calendar
- 5–10 minutes from Oyster Bay to our slip on Naples Bay
